Intelligent board with a Wii controller: Demonstration and Dutch manual

As a lector microcontrollers I'm always looking for beautiful applications of electronics. When I saw on the site of one Johny Lee Chung ( http://johnnylee.net/projects/wii/ ) how to implement a digital board with a Wiimote (= controller of a Wii game console) my curiosity was quick. Meanwhile I have tried it myself, and my experiences are only positive.

The Wiimote actually contains an advanced infrared webcam. When used in conjunction with a projector and a simple infrared pointer, you can make the projected image interactive. By projecting the infrared pointer (infinity) infrared light on the screen, a mouse click is simulated and the computer can be operated.

So you can stay on the screen to give real-time demonstrations, and the hint also makes it very clear where to click. I always had problems with projected demos to follow that mouse cursor to see where clicked effectively.

Attached is a Dutch-language explanation of how to make an interactive board for less than 100 € with the help of a beamer and a Wiimote.

This article shows step by step how to create an interactive board when you already use a projector to give presentations and / or lessons. It will then be possible to control the computer on the screen itself by clicking on the screen with the help of an infrared pointer or pen, as if it were to be done with a mouse.

The article is based on a development by Johny Lee Chung.
