Selection list books on bullying: Book reviews and processing

Bullying remains a topical issue at school and in our society. Probably you work with your school on prevention and perhaps you use an anti-bullying plan.

Leesweb has selected for you good books around the theme in the list box Bullying : books on bullying for toddlers and children up to 12 years, with tips for discussion in the classroom . We are convinced that reading a 'suitable' book on bullying in the classroom can have a positive effect on all parties involved. Those who are bullied, plague, spectator or follower will recognize themselves. Others can empathize. The selected books offer a nuanced and multifaceted picture of bullying, being different, raising questions about the thin border between bullying and teasing in word and deed ... They open the door to conversations about what bullying is, why someone is being bullied, why bullying someone what you can do, how you gain more confidence ... Conversations about bullying afterwards become more concrete and easier.

A good book is constructive and therapeutically justified but also well written and illustrated. The reading pleasure that a good book offers remains an important criterion for us in the selection of books - also for this heavy theme.

To make the correct choice of a book for a class, child, school or class library as easy as possible, we have made an extensive discussion with each book. In addition, we give tips for processing, class conversations and other activities in the classroom. Make headwords, title and keyword registers easy to look up.

If you are interested in this publication that completes and supports your actions concerning bullying at school, you will find more information in the appendix.

Sincerely,

Marina Marissen and Martine Cammaert
