Waterhoen

The waterhoen ( Gallinula chloropus ) is a bird of the family of rallies ( Rallidae ).

Water cans usually make their nests between the reeds, but sometimes also between bushes or trees. They build a platform of dead plant material as it were. The nests are almost always built near water.

Water cans are dark in color with a red beak and a shield on the forehead. The tip of the beak is yellow in color. Unlike meerkats , they do not have swimsuits. Therefore, they regularly run on the shore. (source: Wikipedia)
