Scaredy is a boy who is not afraid of anything. Not for spiders, not for ghosts, not for the creaking in the house, for nothing.

Or right? There is one thing that Bangerik is terribly afraid of: to go outside. He doesn't know what's out there, but everyone in his house says he should be afraid of it.

But then Bangerik gets to know a girl, Annabel-Lee. She comes from the outside and crawled in through the cat flap. She gives him a paper bird to give him the courage to go outside anyway. That bird is his talisman.
