Limits: A presentation and lesson preparation with the CoCo approach

The lessons about limits are part of a master's thesis at Uhasselt. Within this thesis, teaching materials have been developed according to the CoCo approach. In this approach concepts are explained in function of a context. The contexts connect the concepts with everyday life.

Concept: Concepts are principles, laws, principles, theories, structures or systems and form the basis of knowledge building.

Context: Contexts are concrete situations or problems that are or can become meaningful for students through the learning activities to be performed. Contexts can make learning more meaningful and strengthen students' motivation and attitude. Variation in contexts is necessary for the transfer of knowledge and skills. A context can clarify a concept or form the connection between different concepts.

The teaching material shows how this didactics was applied to different subjects and how it can be a source of inspiration for lessons in one's own teaching practice.
