Tori et Lokita: Tutorial accompanying the film

In this lesson folder you will find various ideas to get started in class around the film Tori et Lokita.

Teenage girl Lokita and boy Tori traveled together from Africa to Belgium. They may not be related, but still try to build a life as brother and sister. But getting a residence permit proves difficult and they seem invisible to the world around them. Lokita adheres to the lie that Tori is her brother and tries to get papers, but in the meantime is forced to work in the illegal labor market.

An indictment of the situation of sans-papiers and an ode to friendship. The suspenseful story of the African refugee girl Lokita and the boy Tori, will make students think about what it means to be 'illegal'.

This film is also part of Focus French Film and includes a teaching sheet for French lessons.
