Engineering sunscreen: STEM project
Every year, thousands of people in Belgium are diagnosed with skin cancer, a worrying reality that reminds us how important it is to protect ourselves from the harmful effects of the sun. Sunlight can also lead to serious health problems such as sunburn, premature aging of the skin and even skin cancer.
Using sunscreen is one of the most effective ways to protect our skin from harmful UV rays. But how does sunscreen actually work? This question is the starting point for this STEM project into the science behind sunscreen.
