PRECIOUS COST
Get started for less food loss at school
Did you know that of all the food that is grown and produced somewhere along the way, around 30% is lost? And did you know that with catering service at schools an average of 180 grams of edible food per student ends up in the garbage bin every day? Do you also think that it could be better?
You put valuable food on the road to less food loss at school. In addition to background information, you get inspiring practical examples and concrete actions to get started with the students, the school team and the school environment. How do you make students aware of the problem? How do you measure food loss at school? Can the refectoral arrangement result in less food waste? What do you do with leftovers? What can partners in the school environment mean? How do you make a worm tray? And what is the use of chickens at school?
Food is expensive, both socially, ecologically and economically. It is time to avoid food loss and re-evaluate food waste, also at school!
Precious cost was developed by MOS, in collaboration with Djapo (text) and ImpressantPlus (design).
