Traces of memory: Magazine December 2016


The fourth edition of the Dutch-language educational magazine Traces of remembrance for the year 2016 is now available. Traces of memory is a magazine Foundation Auschwitz - Auschwitz association and is aimed at teachers who want to work in the classroom remembrance education.

Traces of reminder is sent free to teachers who submit a request. Ask today a subscription via the Auschwitz Foundation website.

  • NEWS - Innocents risking life imprisonment. Are victims of forced marriage law on asylum?
    During World War II SS troops were ordered to find Norwegian women and marry, or to ensure at worst to make these women pregnant as much as possible, within the framework of the Lebensborn association. For Germany, the Norwegians were a race of Vikings, and so akin to their own Aryan master race. Marrying off girls against their will is shifted geographically, but culturally far from extinct.
  • AUSCHWITZ - Annual study trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau: Renovated program
    The Auschwitz organizes its study trip to Auschwitz and Birkenau annually since 1978. The emphasis is on study: the concentration and extermination center are visited in a professional manner. This school will be followed a renewed program. It will be new projects and visits enrich the study. Alternative routes are offered to those who again wish to participate.
  • DID YOU KNOW ... - ... brought the attack on Pearl Harbor the US at war?
    On December 7, 1941, the act of the Japanese army changed the course of the war that raged for more than two years in Europe. The surprise attack on the naval base of Pearl Harbor brought the US into the war against the Three Power Pact. This year we commemorate the seventy-fifth anniversary of this aggressive act which was to determine the course of the Second World War.
