Rites of passage here and elsewhere (workshop)

The participants are invited to jointly define the concept of rites of passage . Why are there ceremonies for birth and death? Are cultural and religious practices really so different? What could be the meaning of this rite? Are there any similarities with what I know?

The chosen rites of passage belong to different cultural groups , religious or not. The participants investigate these questions in small groups through clarifying texts and their own reflections. They present a chosen rite to the large group. A conversation broadens their knowledge and questions fixed opinions. With this workshop, students develop their critical minds and learn to question and discover their own ideas .
