Workshop: Visual theater based on The Theater of The Oppressed
During the Sculpture Theater workshop we create living statues
together. One is the sculptor, the other the clay. Or the painter
and the canvas, the photographer and the photo.
In this workshop we are allowed to touch each other, we work
together, we are quiet and concentrated...
By working with images we create a safe way to express feelings and thoughts. We literally control the situation. This is a theater workshop that sets a lot in motion.
This workshop is inspired by “Theatre of the Oppressed” by
Augusto Boal.
Boal gave a voice to the oppressed against those in power through
various theater techniques.
Various themes can be discussed within these workshops:
