Internationale Dag van de Ruimtevaart
Op 12 april vieren we de Internationale Dag van de Ruimtevaart. Deze dag werd voor het eerst gevierd in 2011 ter gelegenheid van de vijftigste verjaardag van de eerste mens in de ruimte, Yuri Gagarin. De dag heeft tot doel om de prestaties van de mensheid op het gebied van de ruimtevaart te erkennen en de voordelen te benadrukken die deze activiteit oplevert voor onze samenleving.
De ruimtevaart heeft in de loop der jaren enorme vooruitgang geboekt, van de lancering van de eerste satelliet, Sputnik 1, in 1957 tot de eerste bemande missie naar de maan, Apollo 11, in 1969. De ruimtevaart heeft ons een beter begrip gegeven van onze planeet en het universum.

- ESERO Belgium (ESA schoolprogramma)
ESERO is het scholenprogramma van het Europese Ruimtevaart Agentschap ESA. In samenwerking met nationale en regionale partners wordt dit programma aangeboden aan leraren en scholen uit basis- en secundair onderwijs in de meeste lidstaten van Europa. - Vlaamse Volkssterrenwachten
De Vlaamse Volkssterrenwachten verenigt de 6 volkssterrenwachten van Vlaanderen. Bij hen kan je terecht om kennis te maken met sterrenkunde, ruimtevaart, weerkunde en aanverwante wetenschappen.
